Lani Evans (she/her/ia) has spent the last ten years leading philanthropic foundations. She is co-founder of Share Collective and Generous Ventures, and was the founding CEO of Thankyou Payroll. Lani is a 2024 Equitable Futures Fellow at the East-West Centre, a past recipient of the Winston Churchill Fellowship, an honorary member of Philanthropy New Zealand and was awarded a New Year’s Honour for services to social enterprise.

Alanna Irving (she/her) has previously founded and led multiple social enterprise tech startups and foundations, with a specific focus on innovation in funding and granting, including Gift Collective, Open Collective, Share Collective, Enspiral, and Loomio. In her role prior to Fundsorter, she was at DIA leading data-driven strategic change for Aotearoa’s largest grant funder, Lotteries. She is very excited about the potential of AI to enhance equity in society.

Joshua Vial (he/him) is a programmer, entrepreneur, and educator with a passion for business, technology, and social change. He has been running technology businesses since 2004, launched Enspiral in 2010 exploring decentralised leadership and professional service co-operatives. In 2013 he co-founded Dev Academy Aotearoa and went on a ten year deep dive into tertiary technical education. Joshua currently leads a small team of AI consultants and developers building software for social impact and running education programmes.

Bonnie MacShannon (she/her) moved from BC, Canada to Aotearoa three and a half years ago and continued her career as a chef across Wellington's hospitality industry. Her passion is in nourishment and providing practical resources to people experiencing food insecurity. She's excited to see the benefits that more effective funding will have on local communities.

Jen Hurley (they/them) is a software developer, with additional experience in administration and technical education. They’re all about helping people, tackling tricky problems, and finding creative ways to make things work.

Database Manager

Originally from Ireland, Cathy Canavan (she/her) has called Aotearoa home for the past 15 years. She has spent the last nine years working in the Kāpiti community sector, supporting community groups with volunteer recruitment and capability building. In both this role and her volunteer work as a Grant Coordinator, she understands firsthand the challenges communities face in finding the right funding. She is super excited to be part of a team helping make the process easier for all.

Backend Developer

Anam brings seven years of engineering experience backed by a Master’s degree in Applied Mathematics. Originally from India and now proud to call Aotearoa New Zealand home, Anam joined Fundsorter to harness technology for positive social impact — building the robust backend systems that connect purpose-driven initiatives, startups, and non-profits with the vital funding they need to thrive. Deeply committed to building a long-term future in NZ's tech ecosystem, she balances her passion for architecting elegant systems with life as a mother of two energetic boys. When she’s not coding, you’ll find her out exploring New Zealand's natural landscapes with my family or in the kitchen, driven by a love for good food and the simple joy of feeding family and friends.

Financial Admin

Adam Clark (he/him) is an accountant based in Whangarei, where he's director of North Financial, working with individuals, small businesses, and charities since 2007. He's also the founder of DonorSeek, a donation-receipting platform he built to take admin off the plate of NZ charities. Adam brings that same eye for streamlined systems and sharp numbers to Fundsorter's finances. Outside work he's a dad to three young kids, married to a high school teacher, and happiest playing football, fishing, or getting stuck into an outdoor project.
