Using AI for good and AI being a public good - shared, accessible, accountable and democratically governed - are two very different things. One of them is possible now, and one of them is the conversation we need to be having.

The community sector in Aotearoa is stretched. Organisations are being asked to do more with less, and the people doing the work are often the least resourced. Telling them to be cautious about the tools that could save them hundreds of hours is, at best, unhelpful. At worst, it protects an industry built on the assumption that grant writing has to be hard. It doesn't. Not anymore.
